AES El Salvador and Blink Charging inaugurate electric station in Texaco Juan Pablo and announce new charging points

AES, in alliance with Blink, accelerates the expansion of its network of public access charging points for electric vehicles.The charging points will be installed in strategic partner locations, such as service stations, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants and supermarkets.

On the way to strengthening its sustainable transportation strategy, AES El Salvador, together with Blink Charging, inaugurated in partnership its new charging station for electric vehicles at the Texaco Juan Pablo gas station, San Salvador. The new electric station promotes the expansion of the charger network and stimulates the progressive transition to electric cars in the country, thus accelerating the future of energy.

AES El Salvador, through its Solutions Division, reported that by the end of 2023 it will offer electric vehicle users a total of 10 charging service stations in publicly accessible places to guarantee the mobility of drivers who have opted for this technology.

“We consolidate our innovation strategy and reaffirm our commitment to contributing to environmental sustainability by promoting electromobility technology in El Salvador and making a reality. infrastructure solution that allows its progressive adoption”, expressed the Executive President of AES El Salvador, Abraham Bichara.

For her part, Patricia Baires, LATAM Business Development Manager of Blink Charging mentioned: “We are bringing our experience and solutions to the Salvadoran market, developing and applying innovative technologies in the manufacturing of charging stations for electric vehicles, promoting the adoption of sustainable transportation in more than 27 countries.”

To increase confidence in the travel range of electric vehicles, AES detailed that, with the launch of new charging points in the departments of Chalatenango, Santa Ana and San Miguel, more than 325 kilometers of routes will be connected, guaranteeing drivers greater peace of mind on long trips in the interior of the country.

“One of the main challenges of the implementation of electromobility in El Salvador is the coverage of charging points for electric vehicles. “Together with Blink and our strategic partners, we are working to provide an innovative solution that will accelerate the introduction of sustainable mobility in the country,” said Roberto Sandoval, General Director of the Solutions Division of AES El Salvador.

With these actions, AES El Salvador continues to develop its commitment to transportation with zero emissions of polluting gases, the reduction of noise pollution, and the reduction of hazardous waste and pollutants, thus accelerating the future of energy.

AES El Salvador’s commitment to electromobility

Currently, AES has a network of 25 charging stations for its electric vehicles installed both within its operational facilities, as well as the new network of commercial chargers in alliance with Blink in strategic partner locations. Added to this are the 21 electric vehicles that it has incorporated to date into the operational fleet of its distribution companies. By the end of 2023, AES plans to expand its fleet to 23 electric vehicles and have a network of 35 of its own chargers and 10 in publicly accessible places together with Blink, totaling 45 charging points.
