/ The coach of the Iraqi Olympic team, Radhi Shanishil, saw on Friday that the team’s group in the U-23 Asian Cup is balanced and the chances are equal for the teams in the third group.
The draw for the AFC U-23 Cup placed Iraq in the third group alongside Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Tajikistan, and the tournament will begin in April next year in Qatar.
Shenaishel told Agency, “Every team aspires to give what it has to achieve what it wants, and this is an ambition and a legitimate right for the participating teams, especially after countries began to pay attention to these groups and began to strive and work to reach Paris 2024.”
He stressed that “the Iraqi team is ready to enter the Asian Championship, and confidence is high in all players, and there is work to show the Olympic team in its best form to reflect an honorable image of Iraqi football.”
Shenaishil pointed out, “The team will gather twice, the first in January next year, and then a second gathering in March before entering the AFC U-23 Championship competitions.”
