The AfD is recovering in a survey and is gaining ground, as are the SPD and the Greens. The Left Party is still below five percent.

Two weeks before the state elections in Thuringia and Saxony, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) is experiencing a further upswing in voter popularity. In the current survey by the Insa Institute on the Sunday question, the right-wing party achieved 19 percent. This is the highest value for the party in more than four months and represents an increase of one percentage point compared to the previous week.

While the AfD is gaining strength, the Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) coalition is losing support slightly, reaching 9 percent in the current survey, which corresponds to a drop of 0.5 percentage points. The CDU is also losing half a percentage point, reaching 30 percent this week. The traffic light parties SPD and Greens, on the other hand, were able to increase their support slightly. The SPD increased by one percentage point and now reaches 16 percent, while the Greens were able to increase by 0.5 percentage points and are now at 11 percent. The FDP remains unchanged at five percent.

The Left, which has played a strong role in East Germany in the past, remains below the five percent hurdle and, as in the previous week, would miss out on entering the Bundestag with three percent.
