In this context, the Taliban leader Haibatullah Akundzada has issued a new order regarding the wearing of the burqa by women. A statement from the Taliban said, “Women coming from home to public places must wear a burqa that covers their entire head from head to toe. It is traditional and respectable. According to Sharia instructions, women who are not very old or young should cover their face except their eyes when meeting young people. Stay home if women do not have important work outside. If women do not cover their faces in public, their close male relatives may be imprisoned or fired from government jobs.
