After getting Test status in 2017, Afghanistan have never played against New Zealand. Finally, their regrets are going to come to an end. Afghanistan and New Zealand will meet in the only Test in September this year. The match will be played at a neutral venue in Greater Noida, India.
It is going to be the 10th in Afghanistan’s Test history, although it is the first against New Zealand. And their third in 2024. Before this, Afghans have never played more matches in a year. Not only that, this is going to be their first Test match at the Greater Noida Sports Complex.
The only Test between Afghanistan and New Zealand is likely to be held from September 9 to 13. After this, the Afghans will visit India to play a 3-match Test series in October. On the other hand, the Kiwis will visit Sri Lanka to play the Test series.
Apart from New Zealand, England, Australia, South Africa and Pakistan have not yet played a Test against Afghanistan.
Australia was scheduled to play a three-match T20 series against Afghanistan in August this year. But they canceled it.
