Afiq distributed 99 free games in 2022 with an average download of about 7 million per game

by time news

The online game store of Epic (Epic Store) distributed 99 games for free during 2022, and in total the subscribers to the store downloaded the borrowed games about 700 million times – which means on average that a free game wave was downloaded by about 7 million players. The value of these 99 games, at US prices, is $2,240, according to the company in an official post summarizing the year 2022.

And fans of computer games can rest easy: Bafik has no intention of closing the throttle. The company promises that at least throughout 2023 the free games will continue to be offered at least once a week, and as we have seen in recent years, there will be weeks with more than one game.

Bafik notes that the store ended the year with over 230 million subscribers, an increase of 36 million compared to the previous year, when it records new records such as a day when 34.3 million active users were registered and 68 million active monthly users in December.

Even in 2022 Fortnite was one of the ‘mythical’ games of the year

Afik subscribers spent a total of $820 million on purchases during 2022, a 2% decrease compared to 2021, but purchases on third-party games, from companies using the platform offered by the company, increased by 18% to $355 million.

This is probably why Afik opens up the possibility for any company that wants, for a small amount, to advertise itself in the store with the same distribution of profits of 88% to the developer, 12% to Afik, as well as the possibility of using third party subscription services.
