Until 2026, countries around the world will increasingly invest in artificial intelligence. Among the regions with the fastest growth in this area stand out Africa and the Middle East, according to the International Data Corporation.

While the United States will be the largest market for AI-centric systems for years to come (more than 50% of global spending), spending on artificial intelligence in Africa and the Middle East, including including Israel, will reach no less than $3 billion in 2023, according to a forecast by the International Data Corporation (IDC).

This figure may represent only 2% of the world total for 2023, which is 151.4 billion dollars, this area will experience the fastest growth rate in the world over the next few years, predicts the IDC.

Over the period from 2022 to 2026, spending on AI in these regions will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 29.7%, reaching $6.4 billion in 2026, according to the IDC.

The pandemic as a catalyst

These expenses include software, hardware, and services for AI-centric systems.

“The effects of the pandemic have resulted in new spending related to the adoption of AI, particularly within the banking and finance, manufacturing, commercial, medical and government sectors”, explained Manish Ranjan, senior program manager for software, cloud, and IT services at IDC.
