Africa Day celebrated in Lima: the Royal Atlantic Initiative, catalyst “for positive change in African communities” (ambassador)

On the occasion of this celebration, co-organized at the Congress of Peru with the deputy of Afro-Peruvian origin Rosangella Barbaran Reyes, Mr. Chaoudri discussed the Kingdom’s African policy, with particular emphasis on the Royal Initiative for the Atlantic, which aims to strengthen “solidarity and active south-south cooperation and to promote the economic and social development of the entire African Atlantic coast”.

The Moroccan diplomat, cited by an embassy press release, also highlighted Morocco’s continued efforts aimed at further consolidating its ties with brotherly African countries, with a view to achieving peace, stability and prosperity on the continent.

Through the Royal Atlantic Initiative, continued Mr. Chaoudri, “Morocco has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to taking advantage of its unique position as a bridge between Africa, Europe and the Americas, by promoting inclusive and sustainable development that transcends geographic boundaries.”

In this context, the Moroccan diplomat highlighted the “transformative impact” of this Initiative, presenting concrete examples of how it has “catalyzed positive change in African communities, paving the way for strengthened cooperation and to mutual empowerment.

Furthermore, Mr. Chaoudri highlighted the preponderant place occupied by the African element in the identity of many countries in the world, including Morocco and Peru, stressing that these two countries, although geographically distant, share deep cultural and historical ties with the African continent.

The celebration of Africa Day at the Peruvian Congress was also an opportunity to highlight the various solidarity initiatives undertaken by Morocco in Africa, as well as the African cultural and identity values ​​shared with Peru.

This celebration of Africa Day at the Peruvian Congress was attended by diplomatic representations accredited in Lima including those of the United States, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Brazil, as well as Peruvian deputies who are members of the Peru-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group and renowned personalities who are friends of Morocco, as well as representatives of various Afro-Peruvian associations.
