“We must win the match against Congo Brazzaville and finish first in our group because the main objective is to qualify for the next World Cup,” he said at a press conference before the Morocco-Congo Brazzaville match, scheduled for Tuesday at the Grand Stade d’Agadir for the 4th day (Group E).

“We are determined to increase our attacking intensity to play the best possible match,” said the national coach.

He considered, in this sense, that “our objective remains the three points of victory and we will try to combine the quality of play and the result especially since we play in front of our public and in ideal conditions.”

“It’s important to find the best balance so that the best players play, but it also takes a little more time to find the best offensive animation,” he said, noting that “we have a very high-quality bench.”

“The most important thing is the balance of the group and if I think that a player is capable of providing technical quality I will include him without hesitation,” he added.

Regarding Eliesse Ben Seghir, Regragui noted that the AS Monaco player “gives us more balance in attack. With him we have more options at the offensive level.”

Regarding the midfield, he explained that “Oussama El Azzouzi is a player of the future for the national team and with the presence of Sofiane Amrabet, we will have an athletic intensity that will certainly make the difference.”

“We have a group that wants to win and progress together,” noted the national coach, estimating that against Congo Brazzaville, the players must be focused to ensure the three points of victory.

According to Regragui, “it is always difficult to play against a team with a low block, but it is up to us to find the automatisms and the offensive animation to open up spaces and go and score goals to win.”

The Atlas Lions won last Friday in Agadir against Zambia (2-1) for the 3rd day of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Morocco leads Group E with 6 points, ahead of Zambia, Niger and Tanzania who have 3 points.
