On May 2, 2023, Afrik Créances, a leading intermediary in the financial sector, opened a branch in Lomé, Togo. The main mission of this movement is to promote financial inclusion by developing banking services for the most remote populations, as well as by increasing the financing of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

The company will offer job opportunities to banking companies in the sub-region through its areas of intervention: Digitalization, Automation, and Afrik Créance Academy, which will train banking executives.

“The activities of Afrik Créances revolve around three areas: credit brokerage, debt collection and brand representation. The vision is to be the leader in banking and financial intermediation in Africa. Afrik Créances aims to contribute effectively to the challenge of financial and social inclusion in Togo and in Africa. As a partner of the States, Afrik Créances intends to accompany them through its center of support for the private initiatives of the States”, explains the promoter, Blaise AHOUANTCHEDE.

This project is financially supported by the Union Togolaise de Banque (UTB) to help SMEs, as well as a guarantee from the African Solidarity Fund (FSA) of 1.5 billion XOF (14% of Afrik Créances and 86% of UTB).

Afrik Créances aims to be a unique platform and hub for innovative solutions and services and a key player in the development of inclusive financial services in WAEMU, ECOWAS and Africa. The vision is also to expand the subsidiaries in ten countries within five years. In 2023, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal will host the offices of Afrik Créances.

The Togolese authorities support this project which will undoubtedly contribute to the development of banking services for the most remote populations and will increase the financing of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

“Our wish for banks and decentralized financial systems this year is that they provide access to finance for micro, small and medium enterprises at affordable costs; increase financing for the agriculture and housing sectors, strengthen the digitization of financial services and improve their quality. All these challenges can be met with the contribution and the new economic model offered by Afrik Créances. We also salute the already remarkable progress of the operation since its official installation in Lomé. The government, for its part, is ready to support this institution so that it can achieve its development objectives not only in Togo but also in the sub-region,” said Ms. Akou Mawusse AFIDENYIGBA.

Regarding financial inclusion in Togo, it should be noted that the overall score for the use of financial services increased from 85.72% in 2021 to 82.59% in 2020, making Togo the leading country in this indicator in the within WAEMU.
