Could it be? Apparently so, at least maybe. Oasis is on the brink of a reunion. The brothers Liam (51) and Noel Gallagher (57), who have been demonstratively at odds for 15 years, are said to have resolved their differences, according to the «Sunday Times».

According to the report, the long-popular British rock band is set to hold several large reunion concerts in Manchester and London in 2025. The Wembley Stadium has allegedly been reserved for ten consecutive evenings. This would mean that Taylor Swift’s record – eight sold-out concerts in a row – would not even last a year. A headliner appearance at the Glastonbury Festival is also reportedly in the works.

Liam Gallagher fueled the rumor mill further by writing to a user on X who had commented on the possible concert location in Manchester: “See you at the stage.” According to the British tabloid “The Sun,” the reunion is expected to be announced this week. It was a surprise for those around them that the two bickering brothers agreed to a deal.

And suddenly there’s praise again

This would end one of the most legendary feuds in rock history at least for the time being. “The most complicated brother pair since Cain and Abel” (Süddeutsche Zeitung) had fought so fiercely in 2009 that their band fell apart due to their conflict. In the following years, the Gallaghers rarely missed a chance to insult each other publicly: “A sad little dwarf,” Liam said about Noel. “I liked my mother until she gave birth to Liam,” countered Noel.

This week, the songwriter known for his stubbornness suddenly struck different notes. In a video from the record label published last Thursday on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of their debut album “Definitely Maybe,” Noel spoke favorably about Liam. “When I sang a song, it sounded good. When he sang it, it sounded great.”

“Don’t look back in anger?” Has Noel Gallagher – here at a Manchester City game in London last May – truly reconciled with his brother?

This sentiment was shared by millions of fans worldwide who relished catchy Oasis songs like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” delivering astronomical record sales numbers for the band. In the UK alone, Oasis had eight number-one hits. In 1996, the band played two nights in Knebworth in front of 250,000 spectators. Two and a half million people had applied for tickets beforehand.

This Wednesday marks the 15th anniversary of Noel’s departure from the band. Will the announcement of the reunion follow? It would likely make the Gallaghers several million richer. Media in the UK are already talking about the most sought-after concerts in British music history.
