Danilo Alves Vieira da Silva, 19, the main suspect in the murder and dismemberment of soccer player Hugo Vinícius Skulny Pedrosa, 19, was arrested this Wednesday afternoon (16), less than 100 km from where the crime took place. The boy was hiding in a residence in Iguatemi, a municipality about 1 hour from Sete Quedas, where he allegedly committed the murder.
According to the delegate from Iguatemi, Eduardo Ferreira de Oliveira, Danilo was alone and offered no resistance. He said he had been hiding in the property for four weeks, but has not yet been questioned to give more details about the strategy adopted to evade the police. One of the main hypotheses was that the suspect had escaped through Paraguay.
“We are still talking with the delegate responsible for the case to find out if we will carry out the interrogation here or if we are going to transfer it so that it can be heard at another time, not least because the investigation has already been concluded and reported”, explained Oliveira.
Danilo also had a lawyer in the city, who was summoned at the time of the arrest and accompanied the work of the Civil Police, but according to the delegate, it was the Intelligence service that discovered the whereabouts of the investigated person. That is, he did not come forward spontaneously.
Against Danilo, there is a preventive detention order (for an indefinite period) issued by Judge Mateus da Silva Camelier, substitute in the Single Court of Sete Quedas, on August 1st.

The accusation – The suspect has not yet given his version of the facts. After turning herself in to the police, it was Rubia Joice de Oliver Luivisetto, 21 years old, who claimed that the “hook” had shot Hugo and then made death threats so that she and a friend, known as “Maninho”, would hide the occurred.
The girl also stated that Danilo and Maninho were responsible for putting Hugo’s body in the body of her vehicle and getting rid of the body. She said she didn’t know what had been done to the body, let alone the dismemberment.
According to what was disclosed by the investigation, which was conducted in secrecy, Hugo left a party at a gas station in Pindoty Porã, a Paraguayan city that borders Sete Quedas, in the early hours of June 25. He was left by friends at his ex-girlfriend’s house and has not been seen since. The family then went to the police and filed a missing person report.
An anonymous tip led to the search for the player in the Iguatemi River. The Fire Department worked intensely, without success in the first three days, but then the police reached “Maninho” – Rubia’s friend, who confessed to having helped in hiding the body. He pointed out where the player’s body was dumped, a point in the river that runs through Danilo’s family’s rural property.
On July 2, firefighters began to locate parts of the victim’s body. It was then that the police realized the premeditation of the crime: those involved had cut the victim into small pieces.
