The Mexico-Puebla ‍highway, as well as the North ⁣Arc highway at kilometer 182,⁢ have been blocked in both directions since yesterday, affecting motorists.

The‍ blockade, which began at noon on August 6th, was initiated by‌ ejidatarios from Santa Rita Tlahuapan, who are demanding payment ⁢for lands expropriated for the‍ construction of the Izta-Popo national park.

The protesters used trailer tires, stones, and even tents to block the roads. They have vowed ⁣not to budge until their demands⁢ are met.

The blockage has had a significant‍ impact on motorists, as well as freight carriers, who have been forced to find alternative routes.

Authorities have provided some road alternatives for those affected by the blockade, such ‍as using the Puebla-Tlaxcala highway to reach the Mexico 121 exit.

The situation on the North Arc⁤ highway is also uncertain, with the Calpulalpan to ⁤Texmelucan and Sahagún to Atlacomulco sections open, but traffic is advised to avoid the Texmelucan to Calpulalpan area due to protesters.

The duration of the blockage remains unknown at this time.
