The legendary band returns to us for a one-off evening with all the favorite songs and will host Kobi Oz, Eli Luzon and Hagit Yaso on the stage of the Mishkan for the performing arts

After 25 years, the legendary Shfatim band is reuniting for an exciting and happy show as part of a musical Usphizin festival that will be held in Sukkot in Ashdod.

The band, which in the nineties managed to bring the songs known in every Moroccan home to the forefront of Israeli music with fresh arrangements and a new sound, has long since become a household name. It was founded by Haim Oliel, Haim Ohana and Eli Oliel, who were joined by Sami Lazmi, the lead singer in Moroccan singing.

The band, which was founded in Sderot and influenced other artists from the city such as Kobi Oz and members of the Church of the Mind, contributed greatly to the integration of Moroccan music in particular and Eastern music In general, in Israeli culture and consciousness and introduced Jewish Moroccan singing to the Mizrahi singer in Israel.

At the beginning of her career, she did not perform original material, even though Oliel started writing from a young age. Since there was a concern that the audience would not connect to original material and unfamiliar songs, they initially only performed familiar songs.

In its 14 years of existence (1984-1998), the band released 5 albums, which included among other hits: “Ahlan and Sahlan Bikum”, “Habibi Diali”, “Mama Diali”, “Nakhliali” and “Yellim Lalim”, “Allah Yamali” , “hey hey”. In 2004 the band reunited for the first time – about 7 years after it was disbanded.

Now the legendary band returns to us for a special evening where they host Kobi Oz, Eli Luzon and Hagit Yasso. In the show at the Ashdod Performing Arts Center, the band’s huge hits will be performed, including: “Ahlan and Sahlan”, “Mama”, “Ish and Violin”, “Newspaper” and more.
