Kharkiv: Ukraine has brought under its control the city of Kharkiv, which was under the control of Russian forces for the past 6 months. Following this, the flag of Ukraine is flying high in the main places of Kharkiv city.
While the Russian forces were concentrated in the area of Izium in the Kharkiv province of Ukraine, last Friday, the Ukrainian forces launched an unexpected and powerful attack there. Following this, the Russian soldiers retreated from there. They abandoned all their weapons and ran away. Because of this, Russian forces have been lagging behind in the city of Kharkiv for the past few days.
This means that Russian forces are behind in about 6,000 sq km. Meanwhile, after 6 months, Kharkiv is back under the control of Ukraine. Soldiers also set fire to Russian flags planted in Kharkiv province.
Kharkiv’s return to Ukrainian control during this six-month period is seen as a major event. However, the conflict between Ukraine and Russia has intensified in the eastern part.
In this situation, European political experts said that Ukraine should not immediately announce the victory of Kharkiv.
