After a hiatus of more than a decade, the “Hay Al-Salam” power station, which is considered one of the important stations in the city of Benghazi, has resumed work.

According to what was published by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy’s page, the resumption of work came “in implementation of the directives of the head of the Libyan government assigned by the House of Representatives, Osama Hamad, regarding supporting the electrical network within the city of Benghazi, and strengthening it to ensure its stability, and with the continuous follow-up of the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Awad Al-Badri, work inside the “Al-Salam Al-Hakin” neighborhood station “30/220 kV” is still continuing at a consistent pace by the company implementing the project.”

The “Al-Salam” district station is considered one of the important stations in the city of Benghazi. It has three transformers with a total of “300 MW”, as it will be responsible for transporting large loads within the city, including “Bouatni Station – Al-Hadiqa Station” to reduce the loads and solve the problem of congestion within the network.

This station had been out of service for more than ten years, after completing the civil works, supplying its equipment, and conducting tests inside it, specifically testing the insulation of the “high voltage” rods in order to confirm it, and after completing all the work inside the station, it will be entered into the electrical network inside the city of Benghazi.
