Latvia beat Germany 75:68 (8:23, 25:12, 26:11, 16:22).

Germany went on a 10-0 run early in the second quarter to take its biggest lead, 25-8, before closing the gap. At halftime, the Latvians responded with an 11-0 breakthrough, taking a 39-35 lead after Ričardas Aizpura’s two-point shot and increasing the lead to 59-46 at the end of the quarter.

Aizpurs scored 26 points in the Latvian national team, while Ralfs Aleksandrovs scored 11 points.

Fabian Kaiser scored 20 points for the opponents, while Marko Petrich and Anton Kemmer scored ten points each.

The quarter-final match with France will be played on Wednesday.

In the round of 16 match between France and Croatia on Tuesday, the French won 90:59 (15:20, 26:19, 21:7, 28:13).

During the preparation stage, the Latvian team, varying the composition, defeated the Ukrainian team twice in the test matches (117:72 and 77:53), in the Baltic Cup in Kaunas, the Latvian team lost to Lithuania (77:105) and Turkey (75:79), but beat them with 82:67 Estonian cadets. The European U-16 Championship will take place in Iraklia until August 17.
