A video footage of some young men assaulting transgender women near Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district and cutting their hair has gone viral on social media. In this case, the police have mentioned that action has been taken.
The incident took place near Kalugumatai in Thoothukudi district. In the video, a young man brutally assaults two transgender women and cuts their hair. Another transgender is sitting nearby with injuries. It’s sad to see. Another person videotapes the incident.
After the video went viral on social media, many people posted on social media demanding the arrest of those who attacked transgenders. In this case, Tamil Nadu Police has mentioned that action has been taken against them. It has been posted on Twitter.
A case has been registered against the two persons seen in the video and both have been arrested, said Ausra Garg, Superintendent of Police, South Zone.
