After a window fall in Linz: autopsy has clarified the cause of death

by time news

After a five-year-old fell from a window on the fourth floor of a residential building in Linz on Saturday, an autopsy revealed that the resulting injuries were fatal. “The injuries are consistent with the fall,” public prosecutor spokeswoman Ulrike Breiteneder reported to the APA on Tuesday.

The public prosecutor’s office is investigating the boy’s mother and her partner, who, however, is not the boy’s biological father, for gross negligent homicide. Due to the great shock, the two could not be questioned for the time being. According to Breiteneder, she cannot yet say anything about the situation in the apartment, such as whether the five-year-old was there alone and how the windows are secured. “We have no confirmed information.”
