Three men were convicted today (Monday) in the US for the 2018 killing of rapper XXXTentacion, who was shot outside a motorcycle shop in South Florida during a robbery.

28-year-old Michael Boatwright, 26-year-old Dedrick Williams and 24-year-old Trayvon Newsom were all found guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery. The court will sentence them to life imprisonment at a later date.

XXXTentacion, whose legal name was Jazza Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was known for his music that fans found captivating as well as his violent life story.

The documentary Look at Me explores his mixed legacy, documenting his struggles with bipolar disorder, his breakout success and his 2016 arrest for beating and assaulting his girlfriend at the time, Geneva Ayala.

The jury that handed down the verdict Monday in Fort Lauderdale had been deliberating on the case since March 8.

A fourth defendant, 25-year-old Robert Allen, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last year and was a prosecution witness against Boatwright, Williams and Newsom during the trial, which began in February. Among the evidence was security camera footage from the scene, which showed the group dancing around the rapper’s body and holding the money they stole from him.
