Hamas announced in an official statement on Wednesday that the funeral ceremony for the head of its political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, will be held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, tomorrow, Thursday, before his body is transferred to Doha for funeral prayers and burial on Friday.
She said that an official and popular funeral ceremony will be held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Thursday, and the body will be transferred to Doha on Thursday afternoon.
She explained, “The funeral prayer will be held at Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab Mosque in Doha after Friday prayers.”
She added, “After that, his pure body will be transferred to its final resting place to be buried in the cemetery of the founding Imam in Lusail.”
She pointed out that the funeral ceremony will be held in Doha, “with popular and factional attendance and the participation of Arab and Islamic leaders.”
This comes as regional and international reactions continue to the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh today, Wednesday, in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
Most notably, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry condemned the assassination of Haniyeh, saying: We view with great concern the Israeli adventure in the region.
Malaysia also condemned the assassination of Haniyeh and asked Meta to explain why it deleted a photo of its prime minister meeting with Haniyeh.
In the Arab world, the Algerian Foreign Minister described the assassination of Haniyeh as treacherous and heinous, while Baghdad considered the assassination of Haniyeh a violation that threatens the region. Egypt denounced the dangerous Israeli policy of escalation and warned of the consequences of the policy of assassinations and the violation of the sovereignty of states.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry also stressed that the escalation leads to more tension and chaos in the region.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said: The assassination of my brother Ismail Haniyeh aims to disrupt the Palestinian cause.
Imam Khamenei stressed that avenging Haniyeh’s blood is Iran’s duty because he was martyred on Iranian soil.

For its part, China expressed its condemnation and warned of further instability in the regional situation.
The Iranian President mourned Haniyeh: “Yesterday, I raised his hand in Parliament, and today I will carry him on my shoulders.”
Hezbollah stressed that Haniyeh’s martyrdom will increase the resistance’s determination to continue the path of jihad.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said: We strongly condemn the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
