A George Soros established by the Central European University (CEU) is also moving to Vienna – writes mfor.hu based on the Cégkozlöny. The shareholders of CEU Ingatlankezelő SE Zrt., The Central European University and the Scholar Support Fund, decided at the end of March on the relocation of the company’s headquarters and its new name (CEU Immobilienverwaltung SE).
The company would officially operate from July 1 at the address of the university’s Vienna campus. Last year, the Central European University (CEU) became the third best university in Austria. A few years were enough for this, after the Orbán government practically chased it out of Budapest, and then the Fidesz-majority parliament imposed unfulfillable conditions for its continued operation in the higher education law.
At the same time, the Constitutional Court rejected the CEU rector’s constitutional complaint the other day, saying that the current legal situation is only a pending one, as the Office of Education will review the operating license of foreign higher education institutions, such as CEU, until the end of 2023, so the violation of rights is only assumed.
