“About 100 passengers were evacuated, but after police officers arrived at the Kaunas airport and they inspected the terminal and assessed the situation, a decision was made to cancel the danger. At the moment, operations are already being carried out in the usual order and passengers are being returned to the terminal”, said Marius Zelenius, Head of the Communications Department of Lithuanian Airports, to Eltai.

According to Mr. Zelenius, this incident did not affect the flights at Vilnius or Kaunas airports.

How lrytas.lt informed Marius Zelenius, the representative of Lithuanian airports, at the call center of the airports around 4 p.m. received a threat to Vilnius and Kaunas airports. The threat reported that explosives had been planted.

“After assessing the situation, about 100 passengers were evacuated from Kaunas airport. Police officers have already arrived, they are inspecting the building”, – lrytas.lt around 5 pm. 30 minutes said M. Zelenius.

It was decided not to evacuate passengers from Vilnius airport. However, officials also inspect the airport’s entrances and internal spaces here.
