/ The coach of the Iraqi Olympic team, Radhi Shanishil, revealed on Thursday that his team’s friendly match against an African team was canceled and an agreement was made with another African team.
Shenaishil told Agency that the Ghana team apologized for facing our team in a match scheduled to be held on the 27th of this month, but the Iraqi Federation agreed with another African team, which is the Togolese team, which is considered one of the developed African teams.
He added that the match will be held in the Emirates on the same day, corresponding to the 27th of this month, and it will be a series of matches that we played during the camp, pointing out that our team faced the Egyptian and Emirati teams, in addition to FC Akron, which is one of the first-class clubs in the Russian League, and achieved victory in the three matches. With good performance.
He indicated that he thought that our team would face teams from different schools during its current training camp in the Emirates so that our players would gain experience and it would be easy for them to meet any team that faces them in official matches.
He explained that the Togolese national team is classified among the advanced African schools and that it relies on speed, skill and physical strength, and this benefits our players during this stage, especially as it prepares to enter official competitions soon.
The draw for the AFC U-23 Cup placed Iraq in the third group alongside Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Tajikistan.
The tournament competitions will begin in April next year in Qatar, and according to the tournament system, the top three places will qualify directly for the 2024 Paris Olympics, while the fourth will compete in the playoffs.
