/ The coach of the Iraqi Olympic team, Radhi Shenaishil, revealed on Thursday that his team’s friendly match against an African team had been cancelled and that an agreement had been reached with another African team.

Shenishil told Agency that the Ghana team apologized for facing our team in a match that was scheduled to be held on the 27th of this month, but the Iraqi Federation agreed with another African team, which is the Togo team, which is considered one of the advanced African teams.

He added that the match will be held in the Emirates on the same day, the 27th of this month, and will be a series of matches that we played during the camp, noting that our national team faced the Egyptian and Emirati national teams in addition to FC Akron, which is one of the first division clubs in the Russian league, and achieved victory in the three matches with good performance.

He pointed out that he saw that our national team should face teams from different schools during its current training camp in the Emirates so that our players gain experience and it will be easy for them to meet any team they face in official matches.

He explained that the Togo national team is classified among the advanced African schools that rely on speed, skill and physical strength, and this benefits our players during this stage, especially since it is preparing to enter official competitions soon.

The draw for the AFC U-23 Championship placed Iraq in Group 3 alongside Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Tajikistan.
