/ After the Spanish coach Jesus Casas announced the list of names of the Iraqi national team players for the Asian finals scheduled in Qatar next year, Agency surveyed the opinions of specialists regarding the national team’s lineup and how they see the names that were called up to represent Iraq in the upcoming continental event.
The coach and football analyst Hamza Daoud told Agency that everyone knew the list of the national team after waiting, and there will certainly be different opinions between supporters and opponents, but to be honest, I see from my point of view that the list is balanced in terms of the players’ positions and the levels that most of them have presented with their clubs.
He added, when looking closely at the three lines, we find that the midfield is the best of all the lines due to the great weight it exerts on the field, but we are shocked by the attacking line, which includes three strikers, two of whom did not provide what was required of them in the league in a way that would enable them to reassure the audience in the largest Asian event that includes the best teams.
Dawoud explained that the player Ayman Hussein is still inconsistent and ineffective, and as for Muhannad Ali “Mimi”, the injury he sustained made him physically unfit, and we are left with only the player Ali Al Hammadi, as he is ready and complete, but we still need an effective striker inside the green rectangle.
He continued, if we assume that coach Casas thought of playing with two strikers, one of them would be ineffective, and here lies the problem, and this aspect had to be considered.
As for the defense line, it is the eternal problem, according to Captain Daoud, who believes that the heart of this important line is still not beating effectively, even though it is the most important in building and cutting off attacks.
He concluded by saying, “We are going to Qatar with many shortcomings, and this is a major reason that will keep us out of the title race.”
In turn, the coach and football analyst, Saleh Radhi, told Agency, “I see that the names that were chosen are convincing, with some comments on a number of them, but the choices remain, first and last, based on the conviction of the coach, Jesus Casas.”
Radhi explained that the coach is the first and last person responsible for his choices and he alone will be held accountable if the team suffers any failure.
He pointed out that the Asian Championship is a difficult task, and we will face strong teams at a high level, and we will wait to see what the team will present in this important continental event, and we hope that our players will be up to the responsibility and implement what is required of them by the coach.
He pointed out that we have great confidence in our national team coach, the Spanish Jesus Casas, as he has worked with good steps and established a team based on the names of players present in our stadiums. He is also closer to the players than we are and knows well the capabilities of each player.
He pointed out that we must point out an important point, which is that the Iraqi national team needs an explicit striker on whom the team can rely to translate attacks into goals from any opportunity that arises.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the coach of the Iraqi national team, Jesus Casas, revealed a list of names of the team participating in the Asian Championship finals in Qatar 2024.
The lineup consisted of “Jalal Hassan, Fahad Talib and Ahmed Basil” as goalkeepers, and the defense “Zaid Tahseen, Saad Natiq, Frans Diaa, Rebin Sulaqa, Ali Adnan, Mirkhas Doski, Ahmed Yahya, Hussein Ali, and now Mohi El-Din.”
