Elon Musk has been making a number of moves since taking over Twitter. Following the structural change like retrenchment and increase in working hours, now there is a news of relief for the employees. After laying off two-thirds of Twitter’s 7,500 employees, the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, has now made a new announcement. Musk said there will be no layoffs and new hires at the company.

In a meeting with employees, The Verge reported that Musk said Twitter is now looking to hire in engineering and sales. He also asked the staff to make relevant recommendations. In the report, Musk was quoted as saying that software developers would be prioritized for new jobs.

He said that there are no plans to have the company’s headquarters in Texas like Tesla, and that the headquarters may be operated in Texas and California. Musk told employees, “If we moved the headquarters to Texas, I think it would send the message that Twitter has gone from left to right, which it hasn’t.” This is not a right-wing takeover of Twitter, he said. This is to protect the right of expression on Twitter, he said.

On the other hand, Elon Musk has said that the plan to introduce the new Twitter ‘Blue Tick’ is on hold for the time being. He said different colors can be used to recognize different organizations and people. After buying Twitter for $44 billion, Musk had said BlueTick would be available for $8 a month. This badge indicates that the associated Twitter account is verified.

In a tweet on Monday, Musk said, ‘Plans to introduce a new way of BlueTick are on hold until we have confidence in stopping fake accounts. Perhaps different colors are used for organizations than for people.

Concerns were raised about BlueTick’s initial plan that users could create fake accounts and start accounts in the names of political leaders, members of parliament, and news organizations to get BlueTick. It is noteworthy that in such a situation, there is a possibility of spreading false information.
