Immediately after the attack, D. Čirvinskas was not locked up in Belange – a news portal lrytas.lt as far as I know, he was given a more lenient remand than arrest. While he was at large, he also beat a second man, who was diagnosed with a mild (according to the classification of injuries, this means moderate severity) health impairment.

Two witnesses were questioned at the Kaunas District Court on Monday during the case hearing, and three more people, including the police investigator, should testify at the next hearing on October 8.

The fatal blows took place on the evening of October 25, 2023, in a residential building on Darius i Girėnos Street in Jurbarka, where a group of people were drinking alcohol.

According to criminologists, when he was in pain, D. Čirvinskas rushed to hit one of his friends on the head with his fists – forensic experts determined that he was stabbed at least 8 times in the head area.

According to portal lrytas.lt, the man was beaten until he lost consciousness. After the victim’s condition worsened, the company members called for help.

The beaten man from Jurbarka was hospitalized in Kaunas clinics, but the doctors could not save him – the man’s heart stopped in resuscitation on December 24.

After the victim’s death, the case was reclassified from serious health impairment to murder.

According to the prosecutor’s office, even before his death, D. Čirvinskas committed a second crime – on November 21, he kicked another man in the face at least 3 times in an apartment on Tilžės street.

The latter was found to have serious bodily injury. Both episodes of violence were combined into one case.

D. Čirvinskas, who was unemployed and lived in Viešvilės (Jurbarka district), is currently under arrest.

Previously, he was convicted of theft 7 times. In the last murder case, he faces 7 to 15 years in prison.
