“After many thoughts”: Eyal Golan’s protégé officially announces a breakup

by time news

The singer Louie Ali broke into consciousness on the program “Eyal Golan is calling you”, and in the years since his appearance on the program he was a protégé of Golan, and worked on his debut single, “Very pleasant, Louie”, which has garnered 5.3 million views to date. Ali was the first Druze to appear on the main stage in the Pride Parade, and even got to appear on the stage of the Eurovision final alongside the singer and composer Idan Raichel. Now he officially declares independence.

Already about a month ago, rumors were published that the Druze singer intends to start a new path, and say goodbye to Golan, but after six years, today (Wednesday) singer Louis Ali officially announces his departure from the “Liam Productions” record company owned by Golan. Louie tells about the decision to start a new path, and thanks for the trust they placed in him at the beginning of his journey.

“After six years together with Liam Productions, I’m officially starting a new path,” Ali wrote on his Instagram account. “The decision came after many thoughts regarding the continuation of my professional path. A new year, a new beginning. Thanks to Eyal Golan for the trust he placed in me at the beginning, to my audience, I promise continued rich and varied work. I will continue to delight you and surprise you with new and refreshing works. Love, Louie. Happy, fruitful and blessed year to all of us.”

In March 2019, Ali said in an interview with Maariv: “I arrived at Eyal Golan. They asked me: ‘What do you sing?’. I said: ‘What do you want me to sing?’ That’s how I was already singing in Hebrew. I entered another world. They told me: ‘Your touch elevates the diction.’ I sang ‘Malat Ahava’ and without informing anyone, I wrote a chorus in Arabic. I didn’t say – not to the judges, not to the musicians, not to the production – everyone was shocked. That’s when my life changed.”

“After I finished the audition, Eyal said to me: ‘Soon there is Caesarea, come sing with me – I’m in Hebrew and you are in Arabic. I didn’t know it would come so early, in the middle of the program. Eyal said: ‘Whoever wins comes to stand with me at Caesarea,’ and I sang with him In Caesarea, even though I didn’t win. I had a feeling that I wouldn’t make it to the finals, because I had already reached what I wanted. My elimination was in the quarterfinals. I didn’t sing well. Those are the rules and that’s fine.”
