Kochi: The income tax department has recorded the statement of actor Fahadh Fazil regarding financial transactions. The film production company involved in Fahad Faasal had been inspected earlier. Fahad Fazil was summoned by the Income Tax Department to clarify these financial transactions.
In the raid conducted by the Income Tax Department in the Malayalam film industry, black money transactions worth 225 crores were found. It has been found that 72 crore rupees to be paid as tax has been hidden. The inspection focused on the production houses of Mohanlal, Mammootty, Prithviraj and others.
It is reported that irregularities have also been found in the purchase of properties abroad by prominent stars. Since December, the Income Tax Department has been raiding the homes and offices of actors and producers associated with the Malayalam film industry. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Actor Mohanlal’s statement was recorded by the Income Tax Department a few days ago. The investigation was on the financial deal between Mohanlal and producer Anthony Perumbavoor. The statement was taken at Mohanlal’s flat in Kundanur.
