The president of the Vierzon football club Thierry Pronko suspended almost all club activities and filed a complaint after monkey cries were heard during a meeting of young players.
Sunday afternoon, during a match counting for the Gambardella Cup between Vierzon and Bourges, monkey cries were heard in the stands of the Brouhot stadium. “Our jersey, our colors and our club are soiled by a bunch of imbeciles”, deplores VFC president Thierry Pronko in a press release shared on the club’s social networks. The latter also criticizes the lack of support for this ever-recurrent problem. According to him, the Brouhot stadium is not sufficiently protected to prevent the recurrence of racist acts.
Vierzon has decided to suspend virtually all its activities until further notice. Except for the National 3 squad, no training is provided within the club. President Thierry Pronko has stepped down from his duties. He expresses his disgust at the “infectious and unbearable reek of racism”. A complaint was also filed by the Berry club.
