The family of the Bedouin thief Muhammad Alatrash is suing Arie Schiff who shot him to death a little over a year ago. The amount of the lawsuit is estimated at more than four million shekels. This was first reported in News 12.

The plaintiff is the burglar’s widow, and her lawyer said the lawsuit is filed “in light of the extensive damage left by Schiff in the form of 8 orphans from a father and a grieving and painful widow.”

The lawsuit against Schiff further states that “the defendant violated every duty and every moral and legal norm as a reasonable and / or prudent person would not have practiced at all.”

As you may recall, a few months ago, the court sentenced Aryeh Schiff to nine months of community service and monetary compensation of only NIS 10,000 after he tried to break into his car.

The sentence was handed down in the Be’er Sheva District Court, after Schiff readily admitted to the murder (that the maximum penalty for the offense is 12 years), and against the position of the prosecution, which demanded that Schiff be given an actual prison sentence.

The president justified her decision: “In my opinion and without taking lightly the difficult outcome, the circumstances of the defendant, the valued man who lost his son and got into an incident of his own accord – require real relief in the way he was given service jobs.”
