The 21st round of the Euroleague will close today with four games, when apart from Maccabi Tel Aviv’s game in Piraeus, Red Star Belgrade and Partizan met for a fascinating derby where Yam Medar’s team won 78:79 after a great game and Basconia won 111:114 over Andolo Eps after a great game . In addition, Bayern Munich continued its good form with 84:91 over Virtus Bologna.

Coming off the back of two particularly disappointing consecutive losses to Valencia and Bayern, the European champions wanted to stop the streak against the disappointing team of recent times who had recorded four straight losses before tonight’s game.
For long minutes it certainly looked good for the Turks when after a great first quarter that ended 28:29 for the Basques, Ergin Atman’s team took control of the game thanks to a great second quarter by Ante Zizic and Rodrigue Beauvois and in the third quarter they already had a double digit lead . But the hosts did not give up the game and managed to come back and send it to overtime after a great last quarter and good minutes in money time.
In extra time the high tempo of the game and the great attacking abilities of both teams continued to show, with on one side Micic, Clyburn and Larkin looking great, but it was a huge performance from Matt Costello that made the difference in the end.

The hottest derby in the Euroleague these days proved it again. After Nemaniye Nadovich’s big three-point win in the first game between the two in the factory this season, tonight we also reached the last quarter with both teams still in the picture, but Zach Liddy was hot with nine points in the decisive quarter and managed to avenge the loss in the first round.
Both teams came to the game after losses in the previous round and the start was close. From the middle of the first quarter, the guests managed to take the lead in the game and kept it until the end, when the hosts remained close throughout the evening but were unable to turn the score around. Israeli representative Yam Medar played less than five minutes and finished with five points and a steal.
By the way, the game ended with Nadovich’s 3-pointer at the buzzer, which reduced the difference from four to one point. The meaning: if the two teams finish the season with the same balance (as of today the balance is indeed the same), the star will finish above Partisan because in the first game they won by three points.
Lidy and Axum (5 assists and 4 rebounds) led the winners with 20 points each, with Mathias Lesur adding 13 along with 8 rebounds. The losers were led by Luca Valdosa with 26 points and 6 rebounds, Nadovic scored 23 points.

The hosts led from the first basket to the last and established their lead in each quarter, as the Italians’ comeback attempts led by Milos Teodosic failed time and time again. Augustin Robitt and Cassius Winston led the winner with 18 and 15 points respectively. Teodosic recorded 14 points and 9 assists on the other hand.
