Mehbooba Mufti-led People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has decided to contest the elections alone in Kashmir. Mufti said (National Conference) has left us no option other than fielding a candidate and contesting the elections. Even before this, everything is not going well in other states. PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said that the National Conference, a component of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), a coalition of opposition parties, has left no option for the PDP but to field candidates on all the three Lok Sabha seats of Kashmir. National Conference had recently announced that it will field its candidates on all three seats. National Conference left two seats of Jammu for Congress as part of seat sharing in the India alliance. Mufti said that she has left no option but to field a candidate and contest the elections. The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir said that the attitude of the National Conference leadership is disappointing and hurtful. He said when the India Alliance meeting was held in Mumbai, I said there that since (National Conference President) Farooq Abdullah is our senior leader, he will take the decision (on seat sharing) and do justice. I expected him to keep party interests aside. But the National Conference took a unilateral decision to contest elections on all three seats in Kashmir.

Everything is not going well in the grand alliance of Bihar. Even though out of 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is contesting 26 and Congress 9, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) is contesting three seats, Communist Party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) are contesting one seat each. But Purnia seat has increased the tension of Grand Alliance in entire Bihar. According to the announcement, the Congress was forced to leave Purnia Lok Sabha constituency from where Pappu Yadav, husband of Rajya Sabha member Ranjit Ranjan, was expected to contest. Pappu Yadav has claimed that he was assured by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi of getting a ticket from Congress. Bima Bharti has been made the candidate from Purnia seat who has filed her nomination. Pappu Yadav is still firm on his insistence and has said that he will die but will not leave Purnia. He has said that he will contest elections from Purnia at any cost. On his behalf, allegations were also made against RJD and he said that politics has become very dirty.
