By wanting to make a nice gift to her daughter, this American almost lived a real nightmare. A mother had indeed bought two tickets for the Taylor Swift concert in Los Angeles, her daughter being a big fan of the singer.

The purchase, up to 1,400 dollars, was made on the ticket resale site StubHub. “As many Swifties or parents of Swifties know, the site […] crashed because it’s the event of the universe right now,” the American explained to NBC Los Angelesin comments relayed by Capital.

Saved by customer protection guarantee

Unaware that the platform was experiencing a bug, the mother was delighted to have been able to obtain two tickets for the concert. But while attempting to retrieve the tickets, the customer was informed by StubHub that her tickets…did not exist. “I was given reason after reason, excuse after excuse, remembers the mother of the family. It was giving me high blood pressure, I couldn’t take it anymore. »

The nightmare was ultimately short-lived. Thanks to a customer protection guarantee, she was finally reimbursed for 200% of her purchase and therefore received a transfer of 4,300 dollars the next day. Not discouraged for a penny, the mother of the family went back in search of tickets and finally found two places for her and her daughter on another platform.

The American is not the only one to have suffered this unpleasant surprise: according to StubHub, 80% of resellers for Taylor Swift concerts were new registrants and were reselling tickets for the first time. This could explain the many command bugs. Luckily for the customers, the warranty worked every time.
