He received the first phone call on August 8 – a Russian-speaking criminal introduced himself as a Google employee.
The impostor claimed that someone was trying to connect to the caller’s Google account – in order to verify that the data was secure, it was necessary to click on the link sent.
After doing so, the would-be victim entered the password and logged in to their email, thereby giving the fraudsters access to their personal mailbox.
After that, the man from Kaunas communicated with other swindlers from the same gang, who introduced themselves to the police and Swedbank employees.
It was stated to the man that, allegedly, in his name, it is intended to take credit, which was broken into his account. In order to protect her, the man must tell the login codes and passwords.
