But: is the vaccine sufficient for this?
30 million vaccinations by the end of the year, planned by the general staff – that is the declared goal of the federal and state governments.
Ex-Health Minister Jens Spahn (41, CDU) recently presented the latest figures – which shows: 18 million cans of Biontech and 12.5 million cans of Moderna are to be delivered by December 17th. Because Moderna is twice enough when boosting (half a dose) that would be up to 43 million booster vaccinations.

The Saarland is a booster master

“Everyone can now benefit from the booster,” said virologist Klaus Stöhr (62), “the older ones a lot more, but the younger ones too”.
With regard to a possible vaccination marathon every three months, Stöhr gives the all-clear: “Anyone who received the booster now, for example four weeks ago, will probably not have to be boosted twice in winter.”
“The current vaccine protects well against Delta, but also partially against Omikron,” said the virologist.
Stöhr explained at BILD Live: “Not only because the antibodies protect against it, but also because the other bulwarks of immunity. And if you now have a fresh vaccination and the antibodies are very high, then of course it will protect very well against Delta and also relatively good against Omikron. ”Therefore, according to Stöhr, it is right to ask everyone to take a booster vaccination.
Stöhr’s outlook: “Boost it now – and then it will most likely last through the winter.”
