Following pressure from the Minister of the Interior Ayelet Shaked, it was decided to stop the approval of the cultural agreement with the European Union which discriminates against the residents of Judea and Samaria. Shaked turned to Bennett who demanded that the issue not be put to a vote. It should drop from the government’s agenda.

As you may recall, last June, the government unanimously approved Israel’s entry into the program for the Creative Europe Fund, which is the main program for promoting the culture of The European Union. As part of the program, broad economic support in the amount of millions of euros will be granted to artists who maintain collaborations in the field of culture with artists from European countries for the purpose of promoting the world of culture at the international level. The European plan excludes the settlement in Judea and Samaria, but the Israeli government has announced that it will compensate Israeli citizens who live beyond the Green Line and will not be able to benefit from it.

“Righteous Europeans should understand that the law of Tel Aviv is the law of Ariel and Othniel. All citizens of Israel are equal and I will not allow boycotts from Europe to permeate Israel,” said Ayelet Shaked.
