Utkarsh Kumar Singh, Mirzapur: After the construction of Vindhya Corridor, a huge increase in the number of tourists is being seen in Vindhyachal Dham of Mirzapur. Keeping this in mind, the administration has decided to set up a tourism police station in Vindhya Dham. This police station will be built on the land identified near Ashtabhuja and the construction work will start soon.
After the establishment of the tourism police station, other major tourist places of Vindhyakshetra and Mirzapur district will be connected to it. If required, tourism posts will also be established, so that the devotees can get the necessary information and quick help.
The number of devotees coming to Maa Vindhyavasini Dham from the country and abroad is constantly increasing. Keeping this increasing crowd in mind, the administration has decided to establish a tourism police station. All cases related to tourists will be registered in this police station under the Tourism Act, so that there will be no problem in filing an FIR. Quick action can also be taken on incidents like assault and theft in Vindhya Dham.
The special role of policemen
A total of 15 policemen including one inspector, one SI, one head constable will be deployed in the tourism police station. These policemen will be specially trained to deal with tourists and understand their problems. Keeping women’s safety in mind, a separate team of women policemen will also be deployed, who will hear cases related to women.
Better facilities for foreign pilgrims
SP City Nitesh Kumar Singh said that it is important to ensure good behaviour with tourists at Maa Vindhyavasini Dham and other tourist places. Currently, Vindhyachal Police itself takes care of security at the Dham and registers a case on complaint and investigates it like the general police. But now, special policemen will be deployed for tourists, who will be trained and will maintain coordination with the tourists.
This initiative will not only provide better security and facilities to tourists, but will also enhance the reputation of Vindhyadham and other tourist places of Mirzapur district. This decision of the administration is welcome and will provide quick solution to the problems of tourists.
