After the salmonella crisis – the CEO of Strauss will leave his position

The shake-up in Strauss: More than three months after the company shut down the production of chocolate products – the factory is still shut down and the group’s CEO, Giora Bar Dea, is paying the price. He is one of the most respected CEOs in the economy and is very close to the group’s chairwoman, and he will leave the company in the coming months – this is what the evening confirms (second) Ofra Strauss.

The Strauss Group is looking for a replacement for Bar Dea, who has held the position since 2018 – according to an advertisement in the “Calcalist” newspaper. Company officials claim that this is nothing new, and he asked to retire a few months ago – but because of the salmonella crisis, the matter was postponed.

At the same time as the CEO’s resignation, according to estimates, Strauss is on the last line of cleaning the factory that was closed in the Galilee landscape, and it is expected to open in the next two weeks. All the chocolates produced abroad are also expected to arrive in this time frame – and will fill the shelves already occupied by the competitors.

Ofra Strauss, Chairman of the Strauss Board of Directors: “Gyora’s journey with us at Strauss is an extraordinary 26-year journey, a journey rich in the achievements of exceptional value leadership, tremendous love for the company and its people, a journey of managerial courage and the audacity to take every arena he has managed over the years to a leap forward . Giura has a unique part in the success and in every milestone of a group, certainly during the period when I serve as the chairman. Giora felt that it was time to make a change, a personal change and a change in the group. Giora will continue to lead Strauss in the coming months and will thus allow us to have an orderly and professional process for finding a replacement for the position.”
