Zelensky’s trip to Britain is his second visit to a country outside of Ukraine since Russia invaded the country in February last year, and comes as Kiev urges the West to provide more military support. Britain has pledged to help expand the training of Ukrainian soldiers to include fighter pilots and marines, with Sunak adding that he wants to ensure that “Ukraine has an army capable of protecting its interests in the future as well.”

As you may remember, a month and a half ago Zelensky made a surprise visit to the United States as well, where he met with his counterpart Biden and addressed the American Congress. In his speech, Zelensky said that “the deadly Iranian drones sent to Russia have become a threat to our vital infrastructure. That’s how one terrorist found another. It’s only a matter of time before they attack your other allies, if we don’t stop them now.”
