Celebration in Saudi Arabia: King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia announced this evening (Tuesday) a national holiday that will be observed tomorrow throughout the country, this on the occasion of the dramatic victory of the national team in the match against Argentina in the group stage of the World Cup.
According to the king’s decision, all farm workers will get a day off from work tomorrow. Classes in schools and universities will also be canceled to mark the holiday.
As mentioned, a huge surprise was recorded today at the World Cup in Qatar, when Saudi Arabia stunned Leo Messi and the Argentina team with a 2:1 victory. The Argentines took a 1:0 lead from a goal by Messi in an 11-meter kick, after a foul in the box, and later the Argentine team scored another goal that was disallowed due to a player’s shoulder crossing the defensive line.
Into the second half, the Saudis came out like a cannon. In the 48th minute, Salah al-Shahari scored the equalizing goal, which stunned the South Americans. It should be noted that in the first half the Saudis did not even kick at Argentina’s goal. Five minutes later in the 53rd minute, the Saudis turned the score around, with a goal for Salam al-Dosari’s connections.
