The six-time Olympic medalist insists that the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) is investigating her conduct and as a result she is “forced to withdraw from all competitions pending this process”.
The 39-year-old also revealed that her video is being closely watched by the British Equestrian Federation and the British Dressage Association.
“What happened is completely out of my character and does not reflect the way I train my horses or teach my students. However, there is no excuse for that incident,” the Olympian said in a statement.
“I’m really ashamed. At that moment, I should have set a better example”, stated Ch. Dujardin.
Jojike added that the whole event was “filmed four years ago” and that she is “depressed because she let everyone down”.
BBC Sport, which is writing about it, claims that it has not had access to the video and does not know the level of the investigation: whether it could be a penalty or even a legal charge of animal cruelty.
Ch. Dujardin won team competition and individual gold medals in 2012. At the London Games, and four years later in Rio de Janeiro, he again won individual gold and team silver.
