Madrid: In the Spanish football league, the current champion Real Madrid and the strong Barcelona won. Real Madrid beat Real Betis and Barcelona beat Sevilla. Real Madrid won 2-1 and Barca won 3-0.

Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad tied with one goal each. At the fifth minute, Atletico Madrid took the lead through Alvaro Morata. That lead could not be extended throughout the match.
