AfterKar: anti-hangover drink by Joel Beukers and Reinier Zonneveld doesn’t work for anything – Radar

by time news

AfterKar is a drink that promises to prevent an alcohol hangover or the so-called Tuesday dip, the side effects after using MDMA or ecstasy. Not only that, it would also repair damage to the body. But the product does not work and does not do what it says it does, according to research by Radar.

The product is sold by Joel Beukers, fitness influencer and supplement seller, and Reinier Zonneveld, the largest techno DJ in the Netherlands. The pair claim that you can burn your butt with AfterKar without sitting on the blisters. When clinical pharmacologist Kees Kramers, affiliated with Radboud UMC, takes a closer look at the drug at Radar’s request, he draws the following conclusion: ‘The only side effect is that your wallet becomes empty.’

Very difficult to make contact

A drink cannot prevent a hangover or Tuesday dip, says the pharmacologist. Radar has been trying to contact the owners of AfterKar for weeks. Reporter Vanessa Ackah goes to talk to the two and when she is at the business premises waiting for a response from the manager of Joel Beukers, the claims are removed from the sites. In the meantime, there has been a written response that states, among other things: ‘With Afterkar for Aftercare we mean to restore your vitamin and mineral balance after intensive physical exertion, for example at a music party or other activity that can cause an imbalance, such as intensive exercise, long travel, in combination with less healthy food. We do not indicate that this drink should be consumed in order to remove the side effects of the use of alcohol and/or drugs.’ Radar’s investigation shows that the sellers did communicate the words Tuesday dip and alcohol hangover in connection with the use of Afterkar.
