The drama that the city of Rosario is experiencing with the resurgence of the narco advance and the string of point-blank murders that have occurred in recent days could forcefully break into the Chamber of Deputies next Wednesday: at the request of radicalism, it will be proposed to declare the public safety emergency as well as the delegation of a series of powers to “strengthen the actions of the federal security forces.”
The bill, presented by Santa Fe Mario Barletta, has the sponsorship of the entire radical bloc. Due to the urgency of the situation in Rosario, the intention is to take it to the venue next Wednesday, where a special session was called for another no less sensitive issue: retirement mobility.
In case of gathering quorum, radicalism will ask to introduce this project as one of the topics of discussion. “I am asking that it be treated in the next session as a departure from the regulations if necessary,” said the deputy. Karina Banfi, deputy head of the radical caucus.
The project in question replicates one of the articles of the frustrated “Bases Law” to declare an emergency in matters of public security in Santa Fe until December 31, 2024, a period that can be extended for another year. In addition, it proposes empowering the National Security area to provide all measures intended for the investigation, prevention and fight against complex crimes and organized crime, as well as the production and trafficking of narcotics.
The delegation also includes crimes of corruption of children and adolescents; terrorism; aggravated illegitimate deprivation of liberty; customs crimes; kidnappings for ransom and human trafficking.
This power that would be delegated to the Executive Branch was contemplated in subsection “j” of the fourth article of the “Bases Law”, an initiative whose sanction was truncated in the Chamber of Deputies. In the midst of the wave of violence that is currently plaguing Rosario, the minister Patricia Bullrich He took the opportunity to reproach the opposition deputies for not having accompanied this delegation of powers.
What Bullrich fails to clarify is that this article was not written by the Government, but was incorporated by sectors of the dialogue opposition. However, this article foundered like the rest of the initiative.
