Agbar receives the Dual Vocational Training Alliance Award for its contribution to youth employment

The seventh edition of Alliance Award for Dual Vocational Trainingorganized by the Bertelsmann Foundationtogether with CEOE Foundationat the CEOE headquarters in Madrid, has awarded agbar in the Large Company categorydue to the group’s commitment to this formative modality, which contributes to quality employment for young people in the water sector. The award was collected by Tony BruDirector of People and Organization at Agbar.

The Dual Vocational Training Alliance Award recognizes Agbar’s trajectory promoting the development of this training modality in Spainin collaboration with the public administrations and educational centers of different autonomous communities (Catalonia, Galicia, the Canary Islands, Madrid, Murcia, Andalusia and the Valencian Community).

This award recognizes “Agbar’s firm commitment to Dual Vocational Training, which has been stubbornly and sustained over time, until it spreads out in the different territories where we are present, as part of our commitment to talent and employment of quality”, highlighted Toni Bru, director of People and Organization of Agbar, who collected the award from the hand of Antonio Garamendi, president of the ceohost entity of the gala.

The coordination of the Water School.

With Dual Vocational Training, the company is involved in the organization of the training beyond traditional practiceswith the teaching of content with curricular value in the workplace.

So, Agbar has promoted the design of specific training cycles of the sector such as the intermediate training cycle in Networks and Water Stations and the higher level training cycle in Water Managementin different institutes with the collaboration of the operators of the group in Spain, and under the coordination and educational support of the Water School.

The deployment of Dual Vocational Training, which consists of a professional training modality that is carried out alternately between the educational center and the company, is part of a comprehensive model of professional qualification promoted by Agbar that includes continuous training in the company, accreditation of professional skills and the incorporation of qualified young talent in the sector.

Professional qualification

This model has made it possible, for example, to reinforce a Innovative vision around quality digital learningoffering specific courses on the different processes of the integral water cycle and specific training stages for Dual FP teachers.

In addition, there have been training for company tutors, through workshops in collaboration with the Bertelsmann Foundation; expert professionals have been made available as teachers in the centers; and technical visits have been organized to several facilities of the group’s integral water cycle.
