jpnn.comJAKARTA – Member of Commission I DPR RI Dave Laksono assessed the reaction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as positive, who emphasized the issue of anticipation to prevent data leaks such as what happened with taxpayer identification numbers (NPWP).

“I really agree with President Jokowi’s proposal,” said member of Commission I DPR RI Dave Akhbarsyah Fikarno Laksono to reporters, Thursday (26/9).

Dave said that the leak of millions of NPWP data should be a lesson for the future that the government really needs to strengthen the digitalization system.

“In the future, the government must be able to anticipate data leaks, to ensure the security of public data,” he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo had ordered the Ministry of Communication and Information, the Ministry of Finance, and BSSN to take anticipatory and mitigating steps towards the leak of 6 million NPWP data.

“Yes, I have ordered Kominfo and the Ministry of Finance to mitigate as soon as possible, including BSSN to mitigate as quickly as possible,” said Jokowi in Boyolali, Central Java, Thursday (19/9).

The former Governor of Jakarta said that data breaches could be caused by human negligence or bad systems.

“This could happen because too much data is stored in different places, which could become a space for hackers to hack,” concluded Jokowi.
