“I bought mushrooms at the A Farm Show the year before last and was very satisfied. I came again this year because I could find fresh and reliable products from all over the country.”

Lim Su-jin (38), who visited the ‘2024 A-Farm Show’ site in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 30th, said this while showing the shopping cart on her shoulder. It was full of agricultural products and local specialties sold at the ‘A-Farm Market Hall’ such as mushrooms, beef jerky, and squid strips.

On this day, the A Farm Show ‘A Farm Market’ was crowded with visitors who came to buy agricultural specialties and unique traditional liquors in preparation for Chuseok. Unique traditional liquors such as Yuja Makgeolli (Daraengi Farm), made only with rice, yeast, and Namhae yuja, and Mead (Booze & Buzz), made by fermenting honey, were also popular.

At the E-Land Kim’s Club booth, about 10 people were lined up to try the powdered rice pizza. ‘Tomato Gochujang’ made from tomatoes grown by young farmers was also introduced at the Kim’s Club booth. Kim In-seong (41), CEO of Tomato Atelier, explained, “Instead of wheat flour or glutinous rice flour, we used tomato fermentation liquid in the gochujang, so we didn’t use any gluten at all and controlled the saltiness.” Fruits and vegetable juices sold at A-Farm Market were also relayed and sold online through Naver Shopping.

Products from K-food companies expanding into the world also received a good response. Of the 600 prizes prepared by CJ CheilJedang that day, half, or 300, were sold out in an hour and a half. Shinsegae Food introduced ‘Rice Based’, an alternative milk made only with plant-based ingredients such as domestic powdered rice and brown rice milk.

Various events were also prepared. At 1 p.m., cheers were heard from various places on the stage where the ‘A-Farm Golden Bell’ was held. It was the sound of contestants who were eliminated after writing ‘O’ in the true or false quiz asking whether the season for sweet potatoes is in the fall. Yang Jun-hwan (18), who participated in the A-Farm Golden Bell and won a prize, said, “I came from Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do. I plan to take over the family business and grow sweet potatoes, so it was interesting to see the smart farm technology firsthand.”
