The traditional agricultural machinery manufacturer Fendt wants to assert itself in the most difficult market in the world. In order to assert oneself in America, however, you need a different caliber than in Germany.
Mhe new combine harvester from Fendt has little to do with the romance of the farm. The colossus in the showroom at the headquarters in Marktoberdorf im Allgäu is more reminiscent of the space saga Star Wars. Futuristic, almost martial optics, painted black, up to 790 hp, including the cutting unit, a maximum width of twelve meters, 1500 liter fuel tank, 17,000 liters fit in the grain tank – no wonder that the company sees a new dimension in its product range.
“Fendt has never been associated with this size before,” says Christoph Gröblinghoff, CEO. And also not with the global ambition behind it. Fendt sets its sights on America, one of the most difficult markets in the world. Size is almost everything here. In many ways.
